POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance PM Tech supports the manufacturing of plastic nursery containers by inspecting and assisting with the maintenance of plastic blow molding, ink printing, thermo forming, injection molding, and mechanical room machines and equipment.  The Maintenance PM Tech will also provide overall support for all facilities equipment to ensure the plant is able to meet its production goals.      


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Works with production floor, including the mechanical room, to inspect plastic blow molding, ink printing, and thermo forming machines to ensure they are operating properly. 
  • Proactively inspects and does small repairs on production equipment to keep it running efficiently.
  • Reports need for larger repairs to the Maintenance Manager for scheduled work order repairs.  
  • Escalates any unsafe machine conditions immediately and shuts down machines as needed to ensure safety.  
  • Works with the production team to schedule daily, weekly, and annual preventive/predictive maintenance (PM) tasks.  
  • Follows necessary safety protocols and procedures as established by Nursery Supplies. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.  
  • At least 2 years of experience in a mechanical, hands-on plant or manufacturing environment; machine maintenance experience a plus.    
  • Ability to lift 25 to 60 pounds.  
  • Good computer skills, including data entry.  
  • Ability to learn new skills, including preventive/predictive (PM) mechanics and the sequence of operation on all equipment in the plant.  
  • Ability to inspect, troubleshoot, and assist with the repair of equipment/machinery.
  • Good communication skills, including verbal and written.
  • Ability to communicate using basic English; bilingual a plus.  
  • Highly motivated with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.  
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.  
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
